Imagine Plank Road: Plan for Equitable Development establishes a new vision for high quality, transit-oriented development that responds to the needs of the adjacent historically Black neighborhoods. The Plan aims to capitalize on the new infrastructural investments in the Plank Road corridor by reinvesting in resilient new public facilities, complete streets, and job and education opportunities. Several months of engagement with stakeholders along with rigorous site analysis and historic research informed the development of the Plan’s priorities summarized in five benchmarks for equitable development, focused on amplifying culture, supporting Black businesses, keeping and building wealth in the community, expanding transportation options, and advancing community health, safety and resilience.
